I've your on a tight marketing budget, you can get new customers for free. Just go back to your customer database and begin to ask your current customers to refer their friends and family to you. Don't be afraid to do this, especially if you have satisfied customers. You can even offer an incentive such as 10% discount on your services and products for the referral. Or you can offer a discount to the person doing the referring.

If you don't want to offer discounts, you can offer free reports or some kind of item that doesn't cost you anything but that is valuable to your customers and prospects. Another way to get free customers is to do a joint venture partnership. If you're on the Internet, team up with other sites that have similar subject themes such as yours. By teaming up with so called "competitor" you can actually share your pool of customers. You don't have to stop there. In fact, think about the products and services that go along with your product or service.

For example, if you're a janitorial business, and you clean for commercial buildings, you could team up with a pest control service and a lawn care service. By being able to offer a total package to your clients, you can now boost your perceived value and raise your fees, as well as share the customers of your joint venture partners. (The lawn care clients may need cleaning done. Same with the pest control service)

These simple strategies don't cost you any money, but they do require some thought and time. You don't always have to spend tons of money to acquire new customers.
